Squid Festival
Light coming out from squid fishing boats is a romantic scene.
Ulleungdo is always getting along with squids. Ulleungdo Squid Festival is a hands-on event that you can catch squids with bare hands, see the course of squids drying and even taste delicious squid dishes. The first festival was held in August, 2001. It is an event enjoyed by both local residents and tourists, being held in July every year by the Squid Festival Association.
Major events are Experiencing Squid Fishing Boat, Catching squids with bare hands, cooking Contest, Log rafting race, Squid marathon and so on.
