The oldest aromatic tree in Korea. It is about 2,000 years old, 4 meters tall and 2 meters wide. It is a protected tree designated by Gyeongsangbukdo. It is one of Ulleungdo’s symbol which rooted itself in the barren rock and has been living since people began to live in Ulleungdo.

It is well known for its medical effectualness to anemia, eczema and skin disease.

Dokdo Museum
It is and advance base to protect Dokdo and the first land museum. In 1995, Ulleunggun provided its site and Samsung Culture Foundation built it in 1997 and contributed it to Ulleunggun.

Local Historical Document Museum
270 materials are exhibited to show the life in the exploitation period in Ulleungdo.

You can appreciate the squid boat’s Eohwa, one of Ulleungdo’s 8 exquisite scenery, from the observatory and you can see Dokdo in a bright day from the outlook.

Once upon a time, an old man lived with a daughter after his wife died. One day the old man’s boat didn’t come back as it met with heavy winds and waves. The grieved daughter spent several days with tears, however, she felt that her father was coming back and she went out to find a sail boat was coming.

The daughter couldn’t wait till it reached, so she swam towards the boat, however, she was exhausted and couldn’t win the waves and finally she became a rock there. It is the legend of chotdae bawi. It commands exquisitely beautiful sunrising view and neighboring sites have been developed as fishing places.

Walk along the seaside of Dodong harbor is a superb view. You can appreciate the wonderful view seen under the bridge connection a natural cave and a valley. Seaside walk leads to a village called Haengnam. The name of this village is also called Salgu(apricot)namu as there was a big apricot tree at an entry to the village. Dodong Lighthouse(Haengnam) which is located 400 meters away from the village lightens waterways.

Takes about one hour to make a round trip between Seaside Walk and Haengnam.

It is a triple level waterfall, located 2km upwards from Jeodong harbor. The upper lover is 25 meters high. As water is falling between the primeval forests, people are lost in its wonderful scenery. A mount of waterfall is daily over 3,000 tons composing the main water source for Ulleungdo residents. There are Punghyeol, Tumakjip, therapeutic woods in Bongnae Waterfall.

Jeodong Harbor was designated as a fishery advance base in 1967. Harbor construction was completed in December 1979. Able to accommodate 510 ships of 10 ton level and 150 ships of 30 ton level.

4km north east from Jeodong Harbor, 7km from Dodong Harbor.
The size of the island is 207,868m², 116m high. Presently, two people of a household are residing in the island and many bamboo trees are self generating.
This island is in lack of water, so the rainfall is used as drinking water. A spiral stairway is the only entry to this island. Codonopsis lanceolata is famous. Transportation 08:00 ~ 16:00.

Buddhistic Jingakjong Temple. Simindang Geumgangwon is one of 4 Jingakjong saint spots, admiring Son Gyu Sang Daejongsa.

It is called Waroksa as the mountain in the village resembles a lying deer and also called Waoksa as sands which look like gem lie in the seashore. At present it is called Sadong as there are a lot of sands.
